Timidity has worked flawlessly for me for nearly a year ... and all I had to do was install a new sound card and nothing works at ALL.
I opened Timidity this afternoon, hoping to make an mp3 of the latest MIDI I was arranging and send it to a friend for his opinion. An error window popped up to inform me that Timidity no longer had a clue what an mp3 was. Fifty downloads, 36 installs and as many deletions later, I found this forum and beg you to help me. Timidity no longer even plays any music at all anymore, no matter what cfg file I use (and this is after three attempts at using the soundfont configurator on your site!). I am at my wits' end and need help, badly.

Sorry, but I don't have any good ideas on what your problem is or how to fix it. Have you tried the midiplay.bat file or just the gui?

Ironically, all I had to do to make the program work was to download an older version. I guess this should be a warning to anyone trying to use the latest version at SourceForge ...
