Using Timidity to convert midi to mp3 for slideshow which requires mp3. When I play the midi, it plays OK for about 3 seconds then the sound pulses on/off. When I convert to mp3 it seems to convert OK but wonder why the on/off pulse. Running with win95 on pentium, 233mhz though I just downloaded to laptop with winxp, celeron 2ghz and will try it there. Found the program VERY useful and say thanks. ;D

This sounds like a memory problem to me. Especially if you are using a large soundfont. Let me know if it goes away on the laptop. Here are some tips to help on Using TiMidity on PCs with Low Memory
